How to Get PojavLauncher on iOS to Play Minecraft Java Edition on iPhone (No Jailbreak)

It’s been over a year since I have seen many iOS users trying to play Minecraft: Java Edition on their iPhones. For that, PojavLauncher is required to be installed on iOS.

Earlier, Pojavlauncher could be installed only on jailbroken iPhones, but now it can be downloaded and installed on an iPhone running iOS 16 without requiring a jailbreak.

What is PojavLauncher? PojavLauncher is a third-party app that allows users to play Minecraft: Java Edition on their iOS and Android devices. You can get this app on an Android phone from the Play Store or find the PojavLauncher APK, but it is not available on the iOS App Store. So, the only way to install it on an iOS device is by sideloading.

In this article, we will explain how to get PojavLauncher on your iOS device and use it to play Minecraft: Java Edition.

Important

Remember that PojavLauncher is not an official iOS app and it is not affiliated with Mojang or Minecraft. It is just a third-party app that allows you to play Minecraft Java Edition on iPhones.

How to Download PojavLauncher on iPhone on iOS 16

Requirements:

  • Windows or Mac computer
  • Download AlterStore on a computer
  • PojavLauncher IPA file
  • The iPhone must remain connected to the computer until the last step.

Step 1: Download AltStore on Mac or Windows

Firstly, you will have to download AltStore from altstore.io on your Windows or Mac.

Step 2: Install AltStore on the iPhone from the desktop

Using a lightning cable, connect your iPhone to your computer. Select the AltServer icon in “Hidden Icons” on Windows and find the AltStore icon at the top on Mac.

Right-click on it and select “Install AltStore” and select your iPhone. Provide your Apple ID and password, and AltStore will be installed on your iOS device.

Step 3: Trust the “AltStore” App

Go to Settings => General => VPN & Device Management and select the new profile to trust the app.

Launch the AltStore and sign in with your Apple ID.

Open AltStore and tap “OK” when it asks permission to “connect to devices on your local network.” Then, go to settings within the app and sign in with your Apple ID.

Step 4: Go to the PojavLauncher iOS GitHub Page and Download the PojavLauncher iOS IPA Build File

Visit this link: https://github.com/PojavLauncherTeam/PojavLauncher_iOS in Safari on your iPhone. Now you will have to sign up for a GitHub account, which is a very quick process.

Then go to the “Actions” tab and download the PojavLauncher IPA file to your iPhone storage.

Step 5: Install PojavLauncher iOS IPA on iPhone with AltStore

If PojavLauncher IPA is downloaded in Zip, unzip it in the “Files” app. Then open the AltStore app on the iPhone, select the “Plus” (+) icon at the top, and select PojavLauncher.

It will take a few seconds to install PojavLauncher on the iOS device. You can see the progress in the AltStore app on iOS.

Step 6: Enable JIT

When using this method, you will have to enable JIT on your PC or Mac. Just click the “Alt Store” icon on the computer and select “Enable JIT.”

Then launch AltStore on your iPhone => Press and hold on PojavLauncher => Tap “Enable JIT.”

This will launch the PojavLauncher app on your iPhone, and you will see a notification that “JIT will remain enabled until you quit the app.”

Step 7: Sign In with your Microsoft Account and install Minecraft version 1.16.5

On the PojavLaunch app on iOS, tap “Sign in” and proceed with your Microsoft Account. Then, tap “Account” and select your account.

This will open the next window where you have to tap on “Releases” and select version 1.16.5. You can also select and install the 1.16.5 OptiFine HD version.

Step 8: Hit the “Play” Button and Enjoy!

After selecting the Minecraft version, just hit the “Play” button, and the game will begin to download.

This may take a while. Once it is downloaded, you can have fun.

If the screen remains black, it means JIT has not been installed or is not working properly. You will have to enable it and try again.

This is it! Now you know how to play Minecraft Java on iOS, no jailbreak is required.
