How To Transfer Contacts from Android To iOS

I was an Android user before, and years later, I decided to switch from Android to iOS. It was surely a good decision to make. Now I can proudly say that I am officially part of the iOS family.

It definitely has its own perks, I must say. And if you are also planning to switch, just do it. However, the only difficult part is how to transfer data. But don’t you worry, there are a few easy ways to do it.

If you are looking for a specific data transfer, such as contacts, then you have come to the right place.

As we already showed you how to migrate your WhatsApp data from Android to iOS, this guide will tell you how to transfer your contacts from Android to iOS.

I have tried and tested these methods and actually used some of them when I ditched my Android smartphone for the iPhone.

How To Transfer Contacts from Android To iOS

Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Transfer Contacts from Android To iOS

This app is specifically made by Apple to transfer data from Android to the iPhone. You can install this app from the Google Play store. The app was launched in 2015.

This app gathers all of your Android device’s data, including contacts, text messages, photos, videos, and calendar, email accounts, and then transfers it to your new iPhone over Wi-Fi.

This method is useful if you are switching from Android to iOS with all of your data along with contacts. The following is the process:

Step #1: On your Android phone, install the Move to iOS app from the Play store.

Step #2: Open the app and press the Continue button.

Step #3: The terms and conditions will greet you. Select Agree.

Step #4: The program will then request access to your contacts, calendar, storage, and SMS, all of which you must approve.

Step #5: Continue on the Find Your Code screen. Then you’ll be prompted to input a code.

Step #6: Switch to your iPhone, and you’ll see a “Move Data from Android” option throughout the setup process. Tap it to activate it.

Step #7: You will be given either a ten-digit or a six-digit code. Enter the following code on your Android phone.

Step #8: You should now see a “Transfer Data” box asking you to choose the material to transfer. Tap Next after selecting contacts and any other data you wish to transfer.

Step #9: Allow both devices to sit idle until the loading bar on your iPhone disappears.

Once the loading bar has finished, hit Done on your Android phone or Continue on your iPhone to continue the setup procedure.

USING GOOGLE ACCOUNT

With this method, you can easily transfer contacts from Android to iOS. Not just that, you can transfer contacts through any device, whether it is Android, iOS, or any other.

You will need a Google account for this, and you will need to sync the data that you want to transfer to your Google account.

We are transferring contacts here, so you should have a synced copy of all your contacts on your Google account.

If you have not yet synchronized your contacts, then follow this method to do so:

Step #1: Go to settings on your Android device.

Step #2: Locate and tap on Google Account =>Accounts =>Accounts and backup (name differs on some android devices).

Step #3: Then go to Account Sync.

Step #4: Click on the sync, toggle on the option of contacts.

Step #5: Wait a few minutes to let the data sync. Once it is done, continue with the process of transferring contacts.

Step #6: Go to Settings on your iPhone.

Step #7: Go to Mail > Accounts > Add Account.

Step #8: You can login here with your Google account and see to it that the contact toggle is enabled.

Step #9: After logging in, all the contacts will be transferred.

Any changes you make to your iPhone contacts will now be synced to your Google account. You will also have a complete backup of your contacts in two places.

You can even use Yahoo instead of Google to sync your contacts with your iPhone. The procedure remains the same.

IMPORT / EXPORT

Another simple way to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone is to export them from any Android smartphone and import them into the iPhone.

It is possible to accomplish this by following the steps outlined below:

Step #1: Go to contacts on your Android device.

Step #2: Click on the three dots at the top corner of the screen.

Step #3: Tap “Manage Contacts.”

Step #4: Choose the Import/Export option.

Step #5: Click on Export to VCF file.

Step #6: A VCF file of contacts will be created and stored on your Android device.

Step #7: You will be able to send this contact file through any means; Mail, WhatsApp, text message, save it on the cloud or any other.

Step #8: After you have sent the VCF file to your iPhone device through any method you deem convenient, open that file.

Step #9: Select “Add All Contacts.”

Step #10: You will be asked, to select an option where you want to save all the contacts. If asked choose Contacts from the options provided to you.

SIM CARD

Using the SIM card method is traditional and is recommended for those who are looking for the simplest way and have contacts below 250.

If you are not taking your SIM card along with you, then this method is not very useful for you.

(NOTE: Import export option will differ as per your Android device.)

Step #1: Open the Contacts app on your Android device and select the three dots= menu (kebab menu) => Settings => Manage Contacts.

Step #2: Select Import/Export.

Step #3: Select Export => Export to SIM card.

Step #4: You will be prompted to select which contacts you want to transfer to your phone. You can transfer all contacts at once or individually by using the select all option.

Step #5: Press the “Done” option.

Step #6: When the process is finished, remove the SIM card and replace it in your iPhone.

Step #7: Go to Settings on your iPhone and select Contacts.

Step #8: Select Import SIM Contacts and select your account.

Step #9: That’s it. your contacts will be visible on your iPhone contacts app.

This is it, mate! Try any of these methods that are more convenient for you. If you have any queries related to the steps or if you are having trouble transferring, ping us in the comment section and we will surely sort out your problem.
