The Android phone system is better, or wait, iOS is actually better. When it comes to these two, there are high chances of confusion in deciding which is better.
This has been the age-old question of which phone is actually better. Whenever Android and iOS come into play, there has been and will always be a debate in the tech world regarding which is better.
In my opinion, every phone or operating system has its own pros and cons and it is up to the user to decide as per their needs and usage. What do you think? Am I right on this? But anyway, we are not here to justify which phone is better; rather, we are here to give you a clear overview of the comparison between iOS and Android.
ANDROID VS IOS: WHICH IS BETTER?
I will make an effort not to turn this into a debate, but rather to provide clear facts about both Android and iOS, comparing both in each different category.
ECOSYSTEM
Believe me when I say that no one has ever given a phone ecosystem like Apple, and this is a huge fact.Android’s ecosystem is like the ocean. It has a more relaxed ecosystem.
It is also much easier to communicate with other operating systems. If you are using just the iPhone and not any other Apple product, then it is of no use to the Apple ecosystem.
If you have other products aside from your daily usage iPhone, such as a Mac, iPad, or Apple Watch, then no doubt you will get the best and full experience of Apple’s ecosystem.
Alternatively, if we look at Android, Samsung is the only one trying hard to build its own ecosystem alone in this vast Android world.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Apple has marketed in such a way that it has made every one of us believe that the best privacy and security settings are only provided by Apple and no one else. I am not saying that Android phones don’t provide good security, but it’s just that people have always seen Google prying into their lives via location and other things.
Android’s data breaches frequently. Because Android is an open-source software that allows you to download third-party apps, data breaches could occur for a variety of reasons.
Apple doesn’t let viruses enter the iOS system because of its tight and closed system, whereas Android being open source and not having tight security invites a number of malware while downloading third-party apps and even when visiting certain websites as well.
SOFTWARE UPDATES
Apple gives us more frequent software updates that resolve the bug issue in a limited amount of time, whereas Android takes its own leisure time to give software updates to fix bugs.
Android gives its users software updates for only 2-3 years and has no consistency in doing so. Whereas Apple has maintained its consistency and offers a new iOS update every year. Along with the operating system, iOS offers frequent updates to apps and games as well.
It also gives updates to older versions of the iPhone. Android gets easily damaged and starts having issues running the device after the update, whereas Apple makes users’ experience more memorable by fixing the bugs and issues with its update.
However, one point should be taken into consideration: Apple slows down the old iPhones when a new iOS update is provided.
PERFORMANCE/ OPTIMISATION
The iPhone’s processor is powerful, giving it an advantage over Android. In terms of optimization, Android lags behind. The chip is constantly being developed in the android world.
As a result, developers have fewer constraints and more options to optimize. Whereas Apple produces only one chip per year, developers spend more time optimizing it.
This is why Apple does not overheat and provides significantly better performance than Android.
INNOVATION AND DISPLAY
If we talk about innovation, then I think Apple is a little behind in this game. The reason for this is that if you take the latest Android phones, you will see an extra camera, a curved display for an extra premium look, and the screen body also has more space.
Apple, without a doubt, has a retina display, but a 120 Hz display is a very new thing for it, whereas Android adopted it a few years ago.Android has a vast range of displays, where Apple usually sticks to its design and plays around with buttons.
In fact, folding phones have also been introduced by Android, but Apple has still not crossed that bridge yet. Although Apple is known for innovation, it is still left behind in this category.
APPS DOWNLOADING
Android is also a more open operating system, which will be important to those who want to be able to download apps outside of Google’s App Store, which iOS does not allow.
You’re forced to download everything from Apple’s App Store, so those are some of the factors I believe people will consider when deciding between Android and iOS.
CAMERA
The myth is that the higher the megapixel count, the higher the quality of the photo. This is why most people believe that Android has a better camera because it has 108 megapixels, but in reality, it is the censor that is important.
Apple’s 12-megapixel camera outperforms Android’s 108-megapixel camera. It’s not about megapixels, but about consistency and feature set. Every year, Apple improves the camera quality.
Android provides more feature innovation, but not in sensor innovation. Apple’s UI camera is simple to use, with only 4-5 features and no night control tension.
Whereas Android has a new release that is only camera-centric and has many features. Android’s photo zoom quality is far superior, whereas Apple has the best video quality.
Battery/ CHARGING
It has been noted that Apple provides batteries with low capacity but still has a better pick up. When we talk about all Android devices, we get 4000-7000 mAh batteries, but they are not power efficient. As a result, overheating issues arose.
Even with a 4300 mAh battery, the iPhone 13 Pro provides better power pickup than standard Android phones. Android phones have better battery lifetimes than Apple
Apple’s power efficient processors are powerful, but they lag behind in charging and technology. Android has a variety of charging options, including a type-C jack, which has the advantage of being universal.
Apple, on the other hand, has a logging jack cable, which can be viewed as a disadvantage.
SIMILARITIES
Both iOS and Android have almost the exact same way of navigating around the OS. Both have customizable home screens, widgets, an app drawer app library to view all of your apps, and notification systems that work similarly.
Many of the apps available for download for each device today, particularly the major ones, operate in the same manner. There are still differences between iOS and Android, but I don’t think they’ll change the fundamentals of how you navigate a phone, open apps, check notifications, and so on.
