Downloading and Installing the App

- Tap “Get” to download and install the app.
- You may be asked to enter your App Store password or use Touch ID to confirm the download.
- Once installed, you will find the eDoklady app icon on your home screen.
That’s it! The app is now installed and ready to be set up on your device.
Setting Up the App
Once you’ve installed eDoklady from the App Store, you’ll need to complete the initial setup:
- Open the eDoklady app on your device.
- You’ll be greeted with a welcome screen explaining the app’s features. Tap “Continue”.
- Next, you’ll need to accept the End User License Agreement to use the app. Read through the agreement and tap “Accept” at the bottom.
- The app will ask to send you notifications. These are useful for document expiration alerts. Choose “Allow” to enable notifications.
- You’ll now be asked to set a PIN code for secure access to the app. Enter a 4-digit PIN and tap “Continue”.
- Confirm the PIN by entering it again. Tap “OK”.
- The app will now guide you through pairing your identity card. Make sure you have your card ready, then tap “Start Pairing”.
- Bring your identity card near the top of your device to pair it over NFC. Hold it steady until pairing is complete.
- Congratulations! Your identity card is now successfully paired with the app. Tap “Done” to finish setup.
The eDoklady app is now fully set up and ready to use on your iOS device. Your identity card is paired and you can start using all the app’s features.
Compatible Devices and Requirements
The eDoklady app requires specific hardware and software to work properly:

Other requirements:
- Identity card with chip
- Active NFC (Near Field Communication)

Connecting Your Identity Card

- Tap the “Connect Card” button.
- Hold your identity card against the top of your iPhone or iPad. Align it with the device’s NFC reader.
- Hold steadily until the app confirms the card is paired. This should take 5-10 seconds.
- If pairing is successful, your identity details will be fetched from the card. The card is now activated in the app.
- You can now use the card for identification and signing documents.
- To disconnect, go to the card section and tap “Disconnect”. This will unpair the card.
Pairing only needs to be done once. After that, your card remains connected to the app for quick access. Make sure NFC is enabled on your device for this to work.
Verifying Your Identity
One of the key features of eDoklady is using your identity card to verify yourself. This allows quick and secure verification when needed.
Follow these steps to verify your identity with the app:
- Open eDoklady and go to the Verification section.
- Tap “Start Verification”. The app will activate your card.
- You’ll be prompted to enter your PIN code for access. Type in your secure PIN.
- Hold your identity card to the top of your device when prompted.
- The app will read your card details and match them against verification databases.
- Once matched, your identity is verified! This takes just a few seconds.
- The verification results will display in the app, along with your personal details.
- You can tap “Share” to send the verification details to others.

Digitally Signing Documents
eDoklady allows you to digitally sign documents and contracts using your identity card’s cryptographic keys. This provides a legally-binding digital signature.
To sign a document:
- Open the document in the eDoklady app. You can import files to sign.
- Tap the signature icon in the top-right corner.
- The app will activate your identity card via NFC. Hold it to the top of your device.
- Enter your PIN code when prompted to access signing functions.
- Your digital signature will be generated based on your identity keys.
- Place your signature on the document by dragging it into position.
- Save the signed file. The document now contains your legally valid digital signature!
- You can view signed files in the “Signed Documents” section of the app.
Digitally signing with eDoklady provides enhanced security and convenience. Your identity is verified every time you sign, and signatures can’t be forged.
Storing Documents Securely
The eDoklady app lets you store identity documents like passports, ID cards, driving licenses securely on your device. They are protected by fingerprint access.
To save a document:
- Go to the “My Documents” section in the eDoklady app.
- Tap the “+” icon to import a new document.
- Select the file from your iPhone/iPad storage. Supported formats include PDF, PNG, JPG.
- The document will be uploaded and stored securely.
- Access protected documents using Touch ID or Face ID.
- You can view, share or delete saved documents.
- Documents are encrypted and stored only on your device.

Getting Notifications

- On Mac, download the eDoklady app from the Mac App Store. Setup is the same. Pair your identity card by holding it against the side of your MacBook or Magic Keyboard with Touch.
